Mix the paste

1. Place a dab of Grip Glue on a palette.
2. Add pigment from the Create Your Art palettes and mix with a spatula. This is where you can play: blend the colours exactly the way you like and create your own shades.
3. Work in pigment until the paste feels firm and easy to shape. The more pigment, the firmer it gets. Think of it like baking buns: just as you flour the dough so it does not stick, the pigment makes the gel easier to work with.

Roll a strand

4. Place the paste between two plates, back to back.
5. Roll the plates back and forth until you have an even, fairly thin strand. If the strand is too thick, the gel tends to get stuck in the grooves instead of forming beads.

Shape the beads

6. Place the strand on the grooved side of the plate in the size you want: 3.5, 4 or 4.5 mm.
7. Gently roll the back of another plate against the grooved side. The strand divides into small beads that are all the same size.
8. Paste sticking in the grooves? Work in a little more pigment and roll a thinner strand.
