Top gel is the last step of a gel polish treatment. It seals the colour, protects against wear and decides whether the nails end up glossy, matte or with an extra effect. Here is which top to use for what.
Glossy tops give a mirror-like finish. Some add extra hard protection, for example over chrome, and others have UV protection that helps the colour not fade in the sun.
Matte top gives a velvety finish that brings out both colours and patterns.
Effect tops go over any colour and add for example glaze, reflective shimmer, glitter, flakes or Cat Eye.
Some tops hold stones, crystals and 3D details in place and cure to a tack-free, glossy finish.
